New Delhi: Bangladesh women defeated India women in the 3rd and final T20I by  4 wickets to avoid a 0-3 whitewash at Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Thursday, July 13.

Shamima Sultana rocks India

Shamima Sultana led the innings with a solid 42 before an expensive 18th over from debutant Rashi Kanojiya, who opened the game for Bangladesh. Bangaldesh were 85/6 when Sultana was run out in the 17th over, but Ritu Moni and Nahida Akter’s 18-run unbeaten stand for the seventh wicket took them home with 10 balls to spare. India had won the first two games and took the series 2-1.

India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bat first after winning the toss. Batting first, India produced the below total of 102 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur played the captain’s knock as she scored 40 runs off 41 balls. Apart from Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 28 runs, while others failed to impress with the bat.

Young Leggie Rabeya Khan was the player to watch for Bangladesh. She bagged 3 wickets for just 16 runs in her 4 overs quota. Off-spinner Sultana Khatun was impressive in the powerplay, removing the star opening duo of Shafali Verma (11) and Smriti Mandhana (1).

Bangladesh vs India T20 – Full account of the series

In the first T20, Team India won by 7 wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur was the hero of the match, who played a brilliant innings of 54 runs.

In the second T20, Team India won by 8 runs. Deepti Sharma was the star of the match. She scored 10 runs and also scalped 3 important wickets for 12 runs in her 4 overs.

Bangladesh bounced back in the third T20 and registered a resounding 4-wicket win. Riding on Rubia Khan and Shamima Sultana’s stunning performance. Rubia took 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. While Shamima played a fabulous inning of 42 runs.
