Former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu made a subtle jab at RCB following their victory over CSK on Saturday, May 19. In a crucial IPL match, RCB not only defeated CSK but also secured qualification for the playoffs with a significant margin of runs. RCB players celebrated exuberantly after Yash Dayal delivered the final ball of the match.

Rayudu’s Subtle Jibe At RCB

Notably, legendary CSK captain MS Dhoni waited for RCB players to approach for handshakes but eventually left as they were engrossed in their celebrations. Rayudu, speaking on Star Sports, acknowledged RCB’s victory but playfully remarked that their celebrations seemed as if they had already won the IPL title for the season.

The RCB vs. CSK match was a memorable encounter in the IPL 2024 season. CSK required just 17 runs to qualify for the playoffs in the final over, even if it meant losing the game, with the target being 35 runs from the last 6 balls. However, the trio of MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur failed to score boundaries off Yash Dayal’s bowling. Dayal conceded only 7 runs in the final over, securing a remarkable win for RCB.

With this victory, RCB secured their spot in the IPL playoffs with 14 points. They will face either RR or SRH in the Eliminator match of the tournament. KKR has already secured one of the top two spots for the season and will not compete in the Eliminator.
