New Delhi: Actor-singer Shehnaaz Gill’s father Santokh Singh Sokhi Gill receives death threat over a phone call. During a phone call, an unknown person threatened Shehnaaz’s father that he will be killed before Diwali. Shehnaaz Gill’s father got a call while he was going from Punjab’s Beas to Tarantan.
Santokh Singh said that he has filed a police complaint after the threat call. He further alleged that the caller identified himself as ‘Happy’ and has threatened to kill him before Diwali.
He said, “I reached the SSP of Amritsar Rural Police on Saturday to file a complaint.”
Santokh further added, “Today, we submitted a complaint to SSP Amritsar Rural. Yesterday I got a threat call from a person named Happy who threatened to kill me before Diwali. I think they want to target me because I am a Hindu leader.”
Requesting the police to take necessary steps, Shehnaaz’s father said, “If no arrests are made, I will soon be forced to leave Punjab and settle elsewhere.”
Meanwhile, Superintendent of police (SP) Jaswant Kaur assured, “The incident will be investigated and action will be taken.”
To mention, it is not the first time that Santokh Singh received a death threat. Earlier, an attempt was made to kill him. In 2021, Santok joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and on December 25, he was attacked by two unknown people. The two accused had fired at Santok.
