New Delhi: Lulu International Shopping Mall of Kerala has once again caught everyone’s attention after a young man wearing a burqa was captured entering the women’s toilet. The man started recording videos of women with his mobile phone.
The accused of 23-years old is an IT engineer. The police officials informed that the case has been registered against the accused of offences under section 354 (c) (eavesdropping) and 419 of the IPC along with section 66 E of the Information Technology Act on the very same day.
IT engineer presented before the court
The IT engineer had been produced before a local court that has ordered judicial custody for him for 14 days, said an official of the Kalamassery police station.
As per the authorities, the absurd incident took place at Lulu Mall located in Kerala on Wednesday. The accused named Abhimanyu works in an IT firm at Infopark, entered the women’s washroom and kept his phone in a small cardboard box. For recording videos, he made a hole in the box and pasted it on the door of the washroom.
After observing the suspicious behaviour, the security personnel of the mall informed the police, the officer said.
As per enquiry was revealed that he was recording the scenes inside the washroom on his mobile phone. After which the mobile device was seized and Abhimanyu has been taken into custody.
The police officials said that the police are probing if the accused has done such acts previously.
