The AQI was recorded at 211 on Tuesday at 9 am, according to the CPCB. After brief improvement, the air quality deteriorated back to poor levels on Sunday. The AQI had remained in the ‘moderate’ category from 13-15 February. The reason for ‘poor’ air quality levels include unfavourable meteorological conditions like partly cloudy sky, lower wind speed, changes in mixing height, ventilation coefficient and adverse weather conditions for dispersion of pollutants.
