West Bengal: A major fire broke out in slum area of Ward No. 17 of Habra Municipality, North 24 Parganas in West Bengal on Wednesday night.
Over 50 houses gutted due to the fire. The fire has been brought under control. A large number of rescue teams and local administration are present on the spot.

The reasons for the incident are not yet known. It is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short-circuit. Goods worth lakhs of rupees got burnt to ashes due to fire.
After the fire broke out, people screamed and ran for help. To extinguish the fire, they started pouring water on the fire with buckets. For some time there was an atmosphere of chaos on the spot.
According to the police, the situation is under control. The matter is under investigation. Due to darkness, there is a problem in the rescue work.
