Kagiso Rabada dominated the opening day of South Africa’s 1st Test against India with the 28-year-old taking his 14th 5-wicket haul on the day.
Rabada’s fifer took him to 500 wickets in international cricket which also took him top of an elite list of pacers.
He has gone in the first place in terms of Test bowling strike rates as the Protea pacer bowls at a strike rate of 39.5 which is greater than bowling greats Dale Steyn and Waqar Younis.
To be included in the list of elite bowlers who have stood the test of time is in itself a compliment. However, to top the list at the young age of 28 takes something else.

The South African pacer started off with a brilliant delivery which outsmarted Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and sent him back to the pavilion on just 5 runs on Day 1.
Rabada went onto take the wickets of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer as well which dismantled the batting lineup.
Kagiso Rabada was also supported by debutant Nandre Burger who also managed to take three scalps to his name.
Among all the Indian batters, it was just KL Rahul whose resilient hundred took India to a healthy total of 245. Rahul’s gritty knock on a challenging pitch like Centurion was India’s only highlight in the 1st innings as Day 1 belonged to the bowlers.
