New Delhi: The T20I World Cup 2022 is set to start in the month of October and all the teams are gearing up to fight for getting their hands on the trophy.

Meanwhile, former India wicketkeeper Saba Karim has made a forecast about the winner of the mega tournament and named the probable winner of the World Cup. What surprised everyone was that he didn’t name India as the winner.

Australia will win T20I World Cup

Karim said that the hosting country, Australia can be the winner of the tournament as they are better prepared out of all the playing teams.

Australia won their maiden title in 2021 after defeating New Zealand in the final played in Dubai.

Karim gives suggestion to Team India

In the team of Australia, leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson has been replaced by finisher Tim David from the team that won the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Australian pitches do not require much spin bowling options. Karim further said, ‘You need some power hitters in the big field, so they keep players from these formats in the side, where they have Tim David and Glenn Maxwell.’

Australia – Favorites to win World Cup

With the final scheduled for the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 13 November, the Aaron Finch-led side has the support of several members, including Karim, to defend their title. Karim was quoted by Sports 18’s show Sports Over the Top as saying, ‘I think they are a team with a strong side. There are many players in the team who contribute to the best batting, bowling and fielding.
