IPL 2024: Mark Boucher Awkwardly Skips Question About Rohit Sharma During Press Conference

Mumbai Indians coach Mark Boucher was seen in a rather uncomfortable position when he was asked about former MI captain Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya sitting right next to him on March 18. Boucher was asked about the main reason as to why the Hitman was stripped off his captaincy. After hearing the question both Hardik Pandya and Mark Boucher seemed uncomfortable which was followed by an awkward silence in the room.

This was the first time that Hardik Pandya was officially addressing the media as the new Mumbai Indians captain. In the event, Hardik answered many questions related to the change of captaincy as well. When asked about how the new experience according to him will turn out to be, Hardik said that it won’t be any different as his senior player and former skipper Rohit Sharma will be their to support him whenever it is needed in the team.

Hardik On Fan’s Criticism

Hardik also talked about the how many supporters didn’t take the decision really well and how his focus currently is solely on the team and it’s future prospects so far. Speaking about the fans in the press conference, Hardik said “Backlash bit. To be very honest, we respect fans. At the same time, we focus on sport. I control the contralables. I don’t focus on what I can’t control. At the same time, I am very grateful to fans. They have every right to say what they say. I respect their opinion. At the same time, we will focus on doing well,” Hardik Pandya said.
