What is Ankita Bhandari murder case?

Ankita Bhandari, a 19-year-old receptionist at a resort near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, was allegedly murdered by the resort owner and his two accomplices.

The three accused, including Pulkit Arya, the owner of the resort, were arrested within 24 hours after the case was handed over to the regular police force from the revenue police on September 22, an official had said.

The accused had said that they had thrown Bhandari into the Chilla canal on September 18. Ankita’s body was found on September 24.

The main accused Pulkit Arya is the son of former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Arya. The party had expelled Vinod Arya from the BJP after Pulkit’s name surfaced in the case.
