New Delhi: Aam Adami chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday reiterated that “providing free education and healthcare is not a freebie.” The AAP submitted a plea to Supreme Court opposing PIL political parties promising ‘freebies’ during poll campaigns.

Said the Delhi CM: “Providing free education and healthcare is not a freebie, it’s duty of government. Waiving off Rs 10 lakh cr worth of loans is a freebie.”

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay filed a PIL to the Supreme Court asserting that some political parties are promising “freebies” during election campaign to lure votes.

Meanwhile, the AAP alleged that Upadhyay is using PIL as a tool for furthering political agenda.

AAP said Upadhayay did not disclose its identity with particular ruling party but called self a “social political activist’.
