New Delhi: Leaders of several Opposition parties have come along to protest the disqualifictaion of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha on Monday outside the Parliament wearing black outfit.

The Opposition has echoed that it is not a fight to save a leader of particular political party but it is an attempt to save the democracy in the nation.

Earlier in the day, a meeting was held in the chamber of Congress chief and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge where they chalked out a strategy to raise the Adani issue.

During the meeting, the leaders of Trinamool Congress (TMC) were also there. The move was welcomed by the Congress chief. It should be noted that the TMC was observed distancing itslef from Congress after it decided to contest 2024 Lok Sabha elections without the support of the grand-old party.

The Congress president, who arrived at the Parliament wearing a black cloth to protest against the JPC’s demand on the Adani issue and Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, said that the Congress party welcomes every person or party who is coming forward to protect democracy.

Kharge said – PM Modi is ending democracy in the country

Mallikarjun Kharge said we have come in black clothes because we want to show that PM Modi is destroying democracy in the country. They first abolished the autonomous bodies, then they established their government by threatening those who won the elections. Then they used ED, CBI to against those who did not bow down.

Kharge said – Welcome everyone who comes to protect democracy

Kharge said that we welcome anyone who comes forward to protect democracy and the Constitution. We express our heartfelt gratitude to those who are supporting us. Kharge asked- How did Adani’s wealth increase?

On the Opposition’s demand for a joint parliamentary committee on the Adani issue, Kharge said, “We want the truth to come out.” If Adani’s wealth has increased in just two and a half years, what could be the reason behind it? If he has magic that can do this, we’d like to tell the citizens the same. He said that if the JPC is formed, then we will come to know about the magic and people will also come to know.
