New Delhi: A heart wrenching story has emerged from Jharkhand. Here a 29-year-old tribal woman has narrated an 8-year-old ordeal that will shake the ground beneath your feet. This is certainly direct you to ponder over the fact is this really the 21st century we are living in?
The woman named Sunita has worked as a house help for these years. However, she claims that she was actually imprisoned by Seema Patra for 8 years. She is the wife of retired IAS officer Maheshwar Patra.

The narration of pure evil
In a video posted by Hansraj Meena, Sunita has narrated her the grave amount of suffering that she was made to undergo. During these 8 years she was never given enough food to satiate her hunger. If she ever asked for more food she was beaten with rods.
Sunita says she was beaten with ladle. Patra used to stick hot pan onto her abdomen and lower abdomen. She was also beaten with belt. She was not allowed to see the rising or setting of the sun. Sunita tells that her teeth were also broken due to beating with the rod several times. She also said that if she ever asked to go home, she received a lot of thrashing.
Sunita is a tribal woman and she is resident of Gumla. She further told that Patra has two children. Patra’s daughter started working in Delhi 10 years ago.

Son of Seema helped Sunita
According to media reports, Seema’s son Ayushmann helped Sunita. Ayushmann had informed his friend Vivek Baske, working in the secretariat, that his mother brutally tortures and tortures domestic help Sunita in every possible way.

Seema denies allegation, says son is mentally unstable
At the same time, Seema has claimed that she did nothing to Sunita and her son Ayushmann is mentally ill. He said that his son has made false allegations. At present, a case has been registered against Seema Patra in Argora police station regarding this whole matter, which includes sections of the SC / ST Act 1989, in addition to section 323 (willful voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.
DSP Hatia has been directed to investigate the matter. At the same time, Congress MLA Deepika has demanded strict action and punishment against Seema Patra in this case.

Who are Seema and Maheshwar Patra?
Seema Patra has been the state coordinator of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign in the state. Her husband Maheshwar Patra, has been a secretary of the State Disaster Management. He retired from the post of Development Commissioner.
Sunita’s message helped her in being rescued
Sunita was somehow able to convey a message to a government employee Vivek Anand Baske on his mobile. Following this, he acted out and it helped in the recue of Sunita from 8 years of prion filled with grave and severe sufferings.
Vivek along with the Police rescued Sunita
Vivek Anand, after receiving the message and with the help of the Police rescued Sunita. A case has been registered against Seema Patra in the Argoda police station of Ranchi. She has been booked under the SC/ST act and many other sections of the IPC. The inquiry is being led by a Deputy SP rank officer. Sunita has been admitted to the hospital. Security cover has been provided to her. Statements are being recorded.
