A shocking incident from Kolkata’s Behala area has come to light where a 41-year-old man named Kartick Das throttled his 28-year-old wife. The incident took place around 1:00 am on Thursday midnight. After committing the heinous crime Kartick woke up early the next morning, prepared breakfast for children, and then called the police to confess his offence.

Before the police arrived, Das had already packed the children’s belongings and had given the responsibilities of the kids to his mother-in-law. When the cops arrived at the incident spot they found Kartick sitting calmly next to his deceased wife, Samapti. Upon questioning, he confessed his crime.

What Did Kartick Do In Kolkata?

The police found out that Kartick, who owned a small grocery store, often argued with his wife in suspicion of her extramarital affair. Their last fight happened on Wednesday night, and Kartick ended up choking Samapti in anger. He told his children that their mom, Sampati wasn’t feeling well and was taking rest.

Kartick said he had called his wife’s mother to pick up the kids, but as per the police, he might have taken them to their grandma’s house himself. They’re also checking if he got rid of any evidence before calling them.

After getting a tip from ASI Amal Ghosh, police went to a rented apartment in Behala where Kartick was caught strangling his wife. They took the wife’s body to the hospital and arrested Kartick for murder. They officially filed a case against him.

What Relatives Had To Say About It?

A relative of the deceased informed that Kartick had a history of abusing his wife, prompting some relatives to intervene. Authorities plan to gather statements from neighbors and the landlord as part of their investigation.
