Deadly Mishap: Cab Crash On Jammu-Srinagar Highway, Claims 10 Lives

On Friday, a tragic road accident took place near Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, claiming the lives of 10 people. Upon being alerted about the incident, the police, SDRF, and Ramban Civil QRT teams swiftly responded to the scene and commenced the rescue operation.

Major accident on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

A horrific road accident occurred on Friday near Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting in the death of 10 individuals. Upon receiving information about the accident, the police, SDRF, and Ramban Civil QRT teams promptly arrived at the scene and initiated the rescue operation.

Jammu-Srinagar Highway claims many lives 

Passengers traveling from Jammu to Srinagar were involved in a tragic incident when their cab fell into a deep ditch along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Battery Chashma in the Ramban area. There is a fear that many passengers may have lost their lives in the accident. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Police, SDRF, and Civil QRT teams promptly arrived at the scene to initiate the rescue operation. The rescue efforts began early in the morning, and thus far, the team has recovered the bodies of 10 individuals. However, due to the depth of the ditch, darkness, and heavy rain in the area, the rescue operation has been halted temporarily.

Police received reports of the accident around 1:15 am, indicating that a taxi (Tavera) carrying passengers from Jammu to Kashmir had fallen into a ditch approximately 300 meters deep near Battery Chashma on National Highway-44. Senior officials, including the SHO of PS Ramban, police personnel, SDRF team, and Civil QRT Ramban, promptly responded to the scene and commenced the rescue operation. As of now, 10 bodies have been recovered from the deep ditch. However, due to the challenging terrain and continuous rainfall, they are being relocated.
