Udhampur: A footbridge collapsed in Udhampur’s Chenani Block during the Baisakhi celebration on Friday.
According to the news agency ANI, As many as 40 people, including several children, were injured when the footbridge collapsed. Baisakhi festival was being celebrated in the village of Udhampur, officials said. Hundreds of devotees gathered here on this occasion. The relief and rescue team reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
Officials said police and relief teams reached the spot and launched rescue operations. The rescue team took the people to a safe place. Women and children were taken to the hospital in the rescue operation. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

“A footbridge collapsed during the Baisakhi celebration at Beni Sangam in Bain village in Udhampur’s Chenani Block, Six people were injured during the incident. A rescue operation is underway Police and other teams have reached the site,” said Dr Vinod, SSP Udhampur
