What did the BJP candidate from West Bengal say on this?

BJP MP Locket Chatterjee claimed that they caught a Trinamool agent red-handed asking people to vote for her rival candidate from Hooghly, Rachana Banerjee. “They made an AASHA worker act as a booth agent in exchange for money,” Chatterjee stated, speaking to reporters on Monday as voting began in her constituency. “She has been instructed to ask people to vote for Rachana. This Trinamool agent is working in booths, directing people to vote for TMC, and she has no slips for any other party.”

Chatterjee reported that the woman, when confronted, failed to provide adequate answers and claimed she was instructed by higher officials who were untraceable. “She couldn’t say anything when questioned. She mentioned being instructed by some ‘Sir’ who couldn’t be found,” stated the BJP candidate from Hooghly. When Chatterjee asked the police about the booth agent, they responded that she was in charge of maintaining the queue. However, Chatterjee refuted this, noting that there were not many voters at the polling station at that time.

Today, the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 5 is being conducted in 49 constituencies, including those in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The sixth phase will occur on May 25, with polling in 57 constituencies across seven states, and the final phase will take place on June 1, with voting in 57 constituencies across eight states.
