A three-storey building has collapsed in Shahbaz village, Navi Mumbai, with concerns that multiple individuals may be trapped beneath the debris.
Navi Mumbai’s Deputy Fire Officer, Purushottam Jadhav, reported that a building collapse was notified at 4:50 am. According to him, two individuals have been rescued so far, while efforts are ongoing to rescue two others believed to be trapped.
Kailas Shinde, Commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, confirmed that rescue operations are currently in progress.

“The building collapsed at approximately 5 am. It was a G+3 building. Two individuals have already been rescued, and efforts are underway to rescue two others who are believed to be trapped. The NDRF team is on site, actively engaged in the rescue operations,” Shinde stated.

Kailas Shinde also mentioned that the two individuals who were rescued have been hospitalized, and their condition is reported to be stable.
“The building is approximately 10 years old. An investigation is currently underway, and appropriate action will be taken against the building owner,” stated the Commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
The incident occurred just a week after an 80-year-old woman died, and four others were injured when a section of a balcony collapsed from a four-storey residential building in south Mumbai.
Authorities, including the police, fire brigade, and NDRF, are on-site conducting rescue operations.
