New Delhi: Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has got a big sigh of relief in the defamation case. The court has acquitted Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Yogendra Yadav in the case.
Case was filed by former President of Shahdara Bar Association
The case was filed by Surendra Kumar Sharma, former secretary of Shahdara Bar Association and then Aam Aadmi Party worker. He had alleged that in 2013, AAP had approached him and asked him to participate in the Delhi Assembly elections on the party ticket. He claimed that his ticket was cut away and he was wrongly accused.
Sharma claimed use of derogatory words against him ruptured his image
Filing a defamation complaint, Sharma said that Kejriwal had used derogatory and bad words against him in a report published in leading newspapers on October 14, 2013. Surendra Kumar Sharma had said that this act of Kejriwal and Sisodia had damaged his image and respect in the Bar Association as well as the society.
