New Delhi: Delhi Jal Board has celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’ at Varunalaya – the DJB headquarters – with full vigor and enthusiasm. DJB Vice Chairman Saurabh Bhardwaj led the celebrations with other officials and staff members.
The Vice Chairman inaugurated the celebrations by releasing pigeons and balloons in the air. The headquarters was cleaned and decorated with participation of all staff members. The DJB Musical Group then presented the cultural programme where different talents were presented to the audience in the auditorium. Patriotic songs, skits, plays and poems were presented by the talented lot of the Delhi Jal Board.
Saurabh Bhardwaj said on the occasion, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a glorious moment for every citizen of India. Delhi Jal Board as a utility serving almost two crore people living in Delhi has a key role in bettering the life of the poorest of the poor so that he takes pride in the nation and we are able to build a national character in him.”
Saurabh Bhardwaj was also joined by other Members of the Board in the celebrations. “Dehli Jal Board is a trustworthy and service oriented organization. The challenges related with water meter reading and water bills remain an unsolved issue which creates lots of problem for the common man. Our organization has huge potential and eliminating the water meters and water bills related challenges will be the best service to the people of Delhi by the time we celebrate the next Independence Day,” said Bhardwaj.
