A woman from South Carolina hit the jackpot for the second time in 2 years. She won $300,000 while playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.
She told the lottery organizers that her first win was the ‘biggest surprise’ of her life but the second win was completely unexpected. “I started dancing around my office,” said the winner.
She had won around $1M with her first ticket.
South Carolina Education Lottery said that the woman had bought the ticket at King Fuel, Top Notch road in Columbia and scratched the ticket while she was in office. They also mentioned that her second win happened exactly the way her first win had taken place.
The woman however didn’t cache the ticket herself, she asked a clerk who further sold it. According to the lottery officials, the woman doesn’t wish to tell anyone about her win including her co-workers.
New York Man Wins $1M lottery On His Way To Massachusetts
In another lottery win, a New York man’s visit to his friend turned luckier when he won $1M lottery prize. Jose Carrasco had bought a lottery ticket on his journey to Massachusetts. He was visiting his friend when he stopped at American Food Market store in Mattapan. Massachusetts State Lottery said, Carrasco had bought $100X Cash scratch-off ticket which turned out to be $1M prize. Carrasco said that he doesn’t have any plans on how to use the prize money as of now.
New Jersey Man Hits Big In Lottery Before Its Expiration, Wins $21.4M
A New Jersey man claimed lottery jackpot of $21.4M just two days before its expiration. Jimmie Smith, a retired security guard of East Orange had bought ticket at a grocery and tobacco shop of 158 Church Street, Tribecca neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. Like other tickets that he kept unchecked and stacked, he didn’t check this one also. Later, when he saw the news about how time was running out for the winner to step out, Jimmie went to his closet where he found the exact winning numbers.
“I ended up with a stack – a pile of tickets, including the one they were talking about on the news,” Jimmie told lottery officials. He was taken aback when he read the numbers. “I stood there for a minute thinking, ‘Do I see what I think I see?’ I had to stick my head out the window and breathe in some fresh air. I was in serious doubt. I really had to convince myself this was real”, said Jimmie.
He told the lottery officials that he had been buying tickets in New Jersey and New York since the 1960s, but never bothered to check if anyone of them was winning. “I always told myself, ‘I’ll check them when I have the time”, he said.
Instead of taking the lump sum amount, Jimmie has decided to take the money in annuity.
