IND Vs AFG: Team India Squad Announced, Rohit Sharma To Lead Men In Blue

BCCI has announced the team for the upcoming IND vs AFG T20I series with Rohit Sharma leading the Men in Blue.

After a long wait, BCCI has announced the squad for the India vs Afghanistan 3-match T20I series which is scheduled to start from January 11. The big news coming from the announcement is that Rohit Sharma will be leading the side for the series with Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav out injured.

Virat Kohli has also been included for the series and will featuring for the Men in Blue in the white ball format for the first time since the ODI World Cup 2023.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be returning for T20I internationals after a long 14 months as the preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 catches some momentum.

The T20I series against Afghanistan will be Team India’s final T20 assignment before the world cup starts.

Other Inclusions

Apart from the star batting duo of Rohit and Virat, the other notable inclusions saw Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson and number one T20 bowler Ravi Bishnoi also make the squad which is a sign of good things to come ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Rinku Singh had impressed with his match finishing abilities in the T20 series against Australia and South Africa. Ravi Bishnoi too was able to make a difference with the bowler not getting as much game time s he expects for him.
