Mirchi Vada Recipe: Ingredients
- Green chilies of thick size – 11 (250 grams),
- Gram flour – 1 cup (100 grams),
- Boiled potatoes – 3 (250 grams),
- Green coriander – 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped),
- Cumin – ½ tsp ( coarsely ground),
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp,
- Red chili powder – ½ tsp,
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp,
- Ginger paste – ½ tsp,
- Green chili – 1 (finely chopped),
- Garam masala – ¼ tsp spoon,
- Dried mango powder – ½ tsp,
- Carom seeds – ½ tsp,
- Baking soda – ½ pinch,
- Salt – 1 tsp or as per taste,
- Oil – for frying
Method
To make Mirchi Bade, first of all, you have to take gram flour in a bowl and make a pakora-like batter by adding some water to it. After this, mix half teaspoon salt, carom seeds and quarter teaspoon red chili powder well and keep it covered for 10-15 minutes.
After this, you have to mash the boiled potatoes well and then put the oil in a pan to heat and put cumin seeds in it to fry and then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, finely chopped green chilies, ginger to it. Add paste and fry it well.

After this, add mashed potatoes, salt, red chili powder, dry mango powder and garam masala and fry the potatoes while mixing well. Fry the potatoes and take them off and put green coriander in it. After this, wash and dry the bari mirch and cut it lengthwise from one side. (Keep in mind that the chillies are not to be cut whole)
After this, fill the potato stuffing in the chopped chillies and after that wrap them in gram flour solution and fry them. Your Mirchi Vada is ready, you can serve it with tomato sauce, chutney or any sauce of your choice.
