New Delhi: Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh agreed to undergo the Narco Test demanded by the Khap Panchayat over allegations of sexual assault against him.
However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Brij Bhushan said that he would go for the test on a “condition” that the top wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also undergo the Narco Test.
The two wrestlers have been leading the agitation at Jantar Mantar in the national capital for over a month now and accused the BJP leader of sexually abusing female athletes and coaches.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Brij Bhushan Singh said, “I am ready to get my narco test, polygraphy test or lie detector done but my condition is that along with me Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also undergo these tests.”
“If both the wrestlers are ready to get their test done, then call the press and announce and I promise them that I am also ready for this… Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh MP Kaiserganj,” wrote the accused MP.
Khap Panchayat Demanded Narco Test For Brij Bhushan
In a brief meeting on Sunday in Haryana’s Mehan, members of Khap Panchayat gathered to decide the next step for the protestors at the Jantar Mantar demanding the expulsion of Brij Bhushan as the WFI chief.
After the meeting, the Panchayat expressed solidarity with the protestors and came up with the demand of Narco Test of the BJP Lok Sabha MP.
The farmers also announced a series of events that they will be holding to escalate their agitation including a candle march at India gate on Tuesday at 5 PM. They will also organise a Mahila Panchayat at the new Parliament House next Sunday.
An Ultimatum To Centre
Earlier, the Khap Panchayat gave an ultimatum to the central government to take action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh or else the former will take a big decision.
