Mamata Banejee changes portfolio of 6 minister

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday Shuffled the portfolios of 6 ministers. The CM took the tourism ministry from Babul Supriyo and gave it to Indranil Sen. Babul will be taking charge of the renewable energy department. 

Jyotipriya Malik, who had the Forest Department, was now given the additional charge of the Industrial Revitalization Department. Pradeep Majumdar, who was holding the Panchayat department, was given the additional charge of the Co-operative Department.

Arup Rai was handling the co-operative department, now he will be managing the food processing ministry. The Industry and Horticulture department was withdrawn from Ghulam Rabbani. For now, he will remain a minister without any department.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also announced subdivision status to Dhupguri “I am happy to share that Dhupguri will officially get subdivision status by the end of this year as per our promise,” She posted on Twitter.

The Chief Minister further said that the move will bring about reforms in local governance and open new avenues of development in the region. 

Earlier on Friday, TMC candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy defeated BJP’s Taapsee Roy in a by-election. While thanking the people of Dhupguri for this victory, the Chief Minister said that Bengal has shown its mandate and soon India will also show its priority.
