Conflict over extra curd in Hyderabad’s hotel led to a fatality. A customer was assaulted by a few staff members at Meridian Hotel in Panjagutta X roads after he requested extra curd with Biryani. The incident took place on Sunday night when Liyaqat got into a heated argument with the staff members while he was having dinner at the hotel. Liyaqat, who hailed from Chandrayangutta, went to the restaurant with his friends.

According to the officials, the heated argument between Liyaqat and the staff led to a fight between both groups. After the police were notified about the clash, they reached the restaurant. The officials further shared that in order to stop the fight between the groups, they were compelled to wield lathi. Following this, the victim, his friends and the group of staff members involved were taken to the station.

The customer, who was injured as a consequence of the conflict, went to Panjagutta Police Station and lodged a complaint. While interacting with the police officer, he collapsed. Subsequently, the police transferred him to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

While interacting with TOI, a senior official disclosed that the victim did not have any external injuries and appeared normal at the police station. When both groups were in the middle of a compromise, Liyaqat started to feel dizzy and vomited. After a few minutes, he collapsed. Consequently, he was shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead. In response to the incident, the officials have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

As per police speculations, he suffered internal injuries during the fight.

In order to figure out the cause of death, his body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital.
