Tragedy Strikes Lucknow: Wife And Two Children Brutally Murdered, Husband Suspected In Shocking Case

Around 15 days prior, Ramlagan relocated to the neighborhood along with his wife Jyoti and their two children, a 6-year-old daughter named Payal and a son of around 4 years old named Anand. This past Sunday, neighbors noticed a noxious smell originating from their residence. Concerned, they informed Amrit Lal, who proceeded to investigate. Upon reaching the house, Lal discovered that one of the rooms was locked and emitting an unpleasant odor.

In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, a young man strangled his wife and two children to death suspecting illicit relations. He then locked the room and went to work. Upon returning home at night, he slept with the three dead bodies for two days. On Sunday, when the room emitted a foul odor, neighbors informed the landlord and the police. Police arrived, broke the lock of the room, and were stunned by the scene inside. According to the police, the accused, Ramlagan, suspected his wife of having an illicit relationship with a young man. He killed the children to prevent them from disclosing the incident to anyone else.

Background Of The Lucknow Couple 

DCP South Tej Swaroop Singh stated that Amrit Lal Gautam owns a house in Sarwan Nagar under the jurisdiction of Bijnor police station. About 15 days ago, a man named Ramlagan moved in with his wife Jyoti, 6-year-old daughter Payal, and approximately 4-year-old son Anand. On Sunday, when a foul smell emanated from the house, residents informed Amrit Lal, who then went to the house and found the room locked with an unpleasant odor emanating from inside. Upon this discovery, the landlord notified the police. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Subsequently, a case was registered based on the landlord’s complaint. Using the mobile number, the accused Ramlagan was apprehended from Sohramau.

According to the DCP, Ramlagan perpetrated this incident on the morning of March 29. He initially strangled his wife Jyoti to death with a scarf and then proceeded to strangle both children to death, stuffing them into a sack. Ramlagan harbored suspicions of his wife engaging in illicit relationships. He rented a room in Gauri on Kanpur Road. Regarding the killing of the children, he expressed concern that they might disclose the murder of his wife. Hence, both children were also killed. Ramlagan first encountered Jyoti in Mumbai approximately 7 years ago. After spending considerable time there, he has been renting in the Gauri Bazaar of Sarojini Nagar police station area in Lucknow for the past 4 years.
