The people of the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to shallow fog in Sunday morning in specific areas, as the minimum temperature in the capital settled at 8.6 degree Celsius, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
However, the Safdurjung observatory, Delhi’s base station, reported the minimum temperature of 8.6 degree Celsius, 1.4 degrees above the normal, IMD stated.
Furthermore, Palam observatory witnessed the minimum temperature of 11.2 degree Celsius, 1.6 degrees above the normal temperature for this season, weather department said.

Delhi NCR fog condition
The national capital on Sunday morning witnessed shallow fog in several areas, while specified areas of Uttar Pradesh also reported fog at specified places, stated IMD.

Fog condition in India
As of 05:30 am on February 11 , 2024, various fog conditions have been observed across different regions. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are experiencing moderate fog in isolated pockets, while Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are encountering shallow fog in specific areas. The recorded visibility at the same time indicates reduced visibility levels, with Vijayawada in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam registering 200 meters, Safdarjung and Palam in Delhi both at 500 meters each, Varanasi in East Uttar Pradesh at 500 meters, and Bareilly in West Uttar Pradesh also at 500 meters. These observations highlight the presence of foggy conditions impacting visibility in these regions during the early morning hours.
