Meghalaya Assembly elections: The Election Commission reported on Monday that Meghalaya had concluded voting with 74 percent voter turnout for 59 assembly constituencies till 5 Pm.
Polling concluded in 59 seats in Nagaland. A total of 74 per cent voters casted their vote till 5PM (Voting continued after 4PM for voters who reached at voting centre prior to 4 PM)
Polling is still underway in Meghalaya. 63.91 per cent polling has been recorded so far till 3 pm in the state.
Peaceful polling underway in Meghalaya. 44.73 per cent polling has been recorded so far till 1:30 pm in the state.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m. According to the ECI, East Garo Hills had the highest voter turnout at 17.82 percent.
According to the Election Commission, “East Jaintia Hills had a voter turnout of 13.85 percent, East Khasi Hills had a voter turnout of 14.29 percent, Eastern West Khasi Hills had a voter turnout of 16.18 percent, North Garo Hills had a voter turnout of 9.83 percent, Ri-Bhoi had a voter turnout of 10.06 percent, South Garo Hills had a voter turnout of 3.48 percent, South West Garo Hills had an 11.
According to the Election Commission, “East Jaintia Hills had a voter turnout of 13.85 percent, East Khasi Hills had a voter turnout of 14.29 percent, Eastern West Khasi Hills had a voter turnout of 16.18 percent, North Garo Hills had a turnout of 9.83 percent, Ri-Bhoi had a turnout of 10.06 percent, South Garo Hills had a turnout of 3.48 percent, South West Garo Hills had a turnout of 11.37 per cent, South West Khasi Hills 14.09 per cent, West Garo Hills at 6.70 per cent, West Jaintia Hills at 17.19 per cent and West Khasi Hills at 12.15 per cent.”

Voting in the Meghalaya Assembly elections began today amid tight security.
The state’s 59 Assembly constituencies are represented by 3,419 polling stations.
Meghalaya has 60 Assembly constituencies, 36 of which are in the Khasi, Jaintia Hills region, and 24 in the Garo Hills region.
However, polling for the Sohiong Assembly constituency was postponed following the death of the state’s former Home Minister and UDP candidate for the seat, HDR Lyngdoh.
There are over 21 lakh voters (21,75,236), with 10.99 lakh women and 10.68 lakh men voting.
