In Firozabad, BJP replaced sitting MP Chandrasen Singh Jadaun with Thakur Vishwadeep Singh as the candidate. The party also revoked the ticket of Deoria MP Ramapati Ram Tripathi, and now Shashank Mani Tripathi, son of former MP General Prakashmani Tripathi, will contest the elections from there.
The BJP has announced its candidate for the prominent Diamond Harbor seat in Kolkata, selecting Abhijit Das (Bobby) for this position. Notably, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, who is Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, is also contesting from this seat. Anita Somprakash, the wife of Union Minister Somprakash, has been nominated as the candidate for Hoshiarpur.
Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale has been given the ticket for the Satara seat in Maharashtra by the party. Satara is among the nine seats in Maharashtra where no decision was reached during the grand alliance talks, leading to a contest between the BJP and NCP. In the 2019 by-election, the BJP had fielded current Rajya Sabha MP Udayanraje Bhosale, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who lost the election at that time. This time, the NCP’s Sharad Pawar faction has nominated Shashikant Shinde for Satara.
