New Delhi:An encounter broke out between police and gang of snatchers in Noida film city, Sector 16A on Friday morning. Acoording to early report, police have shot a wanted serial mobile phone snatcher of Chenu gang in exchange of fire.

The snatcher has been identified as Danish aka Cheeta. He sustained a bullet injury in his leg after being shot at by the cops during the exchange of fire. The encounter is reportedly took place in Noida film city at Sector 16 A of Gautam Buddha Nagar. The reports revealed that a snatcher of Chenu gang was hiding in an under construction in the area. On getting tip-off police planned to arrest the members of Chenu Gang.

It is said that the police tried to stop the criminal near Brahmaputra market in Noida but he managed to escape into film city. Police chased the snatcher and shot him in an alleged encounter.
Four mobile phones, one two-wheeler and illegal arms were recovered from his possession, police said.

“During checking, we tried to stop a suspect near Brahmaputra Market but he fled following which he was chased by police post in-charge of Sector 18. He then hid in an under construction building and fired on policemen. This led to an encounter and he was shot in the exchange of fire. The accused has 21 cases against him in Delhi-NCR. He had also been a shooter of Chenu gang,” Additional DCP (Noida), Ashutosh Dwivedi said.
“He was also wanted in cases by Sector 20 police. We have recovered a motorcycle from him that was stolen from Noida Phase-3. Three cartridges and a countrymade pistol have also been seized from him. We are also looking for his accomplice who fled from the spot,” added Additional DCP.
