JEE Main 2022: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking another session of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022. The writ petition was filed to re-conduct the exam owing to the technical glitches in the first attempt.

While refusing to entertain the plea, the Supreme Court ruled, “Let the exam happen on Sunday. We don’t want to interfere,” quoted Live Law.

However, the petitioner pointed out that the top court had given relaxation to 15 students in a different case where the group of applicants were allowed attend the additional session of IIT-JEE(Mains) Exam. The 15 students pleaded that they should be given another chance as they faced difficulties during the exam in first session of the exam held in June.

Following which, the court remarked that it is a belated stage and there will be several difficulties in intervening.

“Let there be some finality. You are increasing the anxiety of students also by filing petitions”, said Justice Chandrachud.

This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted only two sessions while doing away with the third one. This move was highly objected by the students but still it was not taken back.

Also, during the exam there were several glitches. The students also alleged that several discrepancies were found in the marks obtained in the final result and the answers marked, which affected their scores.

The JEE Main result has been declared where, 2.5 lakh students have been selected for JEE Advanced 2022. The JEE Advanced 2022 will be held on 28 August 2022 across the country. Meanwhile, the result will be released on 11 September 2022.
