WhatsApp Status Reveals Twisted Love Tale: Man Posts Gf’s Lifeless Image, Triggers Police Hunt
In Chennai, a distressing incident unfolded as a young nursing student's lifeless image surfaced as her boyfriend's Whatsapp status, raising concern among their mutual friends. The alarm was sounded, prompting their friends to alert the Chromepet police. A subsequent search led to the discovery of the body at a hotel on CLC Works Road in Chromepet.
According to the hotel staff, Fousia (20) and Ashiq (20) from Kollam, Kerala, had checked into the hotel around 10:30 am. Ashiq was arrested from a nearby eatery after police examined CCTV footage in the area. Investigations revealed the couple had been in a five-year relationship, secretly married, and had a child during their late teens, subsequently putting the child up for adoption in Chikamagalur. Fousia, a second-year nursing student in Chromepet, resided in a New Colony hostel and hadn't attended college for three consecutive days.
Reportedly, an argument ensued between the couple shortly after checking into the hotel. Fousia confronted Ashiq about photos of him and another woman on his phone, leading to a physical altercation where Ashiq allegedly struck and strangled Fousia with his t-shirt. Shockingly, he then shared a photo of her lifeless body as his Whatsapp status.
Their relationship had hit rough waters two years prior when Fousia discovered Ashiq's involvement with multiple other women. She had lodged a complaint with the Kerala police, resulting in his arrest under the Pocso Act. However, after serving time in jail, he reconciled with her, apologizing for his actions. Despite their separation, he continued visiting her.
The investigation into Fousia's murder continues as authorities delve into potential motives behind the tragic incident. Fousia's body was sent for postmortem at the Chromepet government hospital.
