The car segment is gearing up for a new addition in the realm of 5-seater family cars, and it’s set to rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector. We’re talking about Kia’s upcoming sensation, the new Sportage. Social media is abuzz with the viral pictures of this eagerly anticipated SUV.

This new Kia Sportage is poised to be a substantial luxury SUV with an imposing presence, featuring sizable tires and alloy wheels. The vehicle will boast a user-friendly touchscreen infotainment system that’s become a standard in modern cars. While the expected launch date for the Kia Sportage in India is July 2024, the company has yet to make an official statement regarding the car’s price and availability. Nevertheless, this car promises comfortable seating and a robust suspension system for a smooth ride.

Under the hood, the Kia Sportage will house a potent 1999 cc engine. With this powertrain, the car is projected to generate an impressive 181.0 Bhp and a peak torque of around 192 Nm. Safety features include six airbags, a sunroof, and a reliable braking system.

In terms of pricing, the Kia Sportage is expected to start at around Rs 25 lakhs. The car will come in six different variants to cater to varying customer preferences.

For those interested in Kia’s offerings, the company’s current big-size car, the Carens, is already available in the market. The Carens is a versatile option, coming in both six and seven-seat configurations. The starting price for this model is Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carens offers six different variants, including Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O), and Luxury Plus.

The Carens also provides a turbo engine option, featuring a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 115 PS power and 144 Nm torque. This big-size car offers a boot space of 216 litres and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Safety features include all-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and electronic stability control, ensuring a well-rounded driving experience.
