Honda’s first offering in the 100cc commuter segment is the Shine 100 which has a high demand in the Indian market leading to its massive production. Additionally, it is one of the most affordable motorcycles in India. Then there are other popular motorcycles coming from renowned manufacturers like Hero, TVS, and Bajaj. These simple, all-weather commuter motorcycles account for nearly one-third of all two-wheeler sales in the country. Check out the list of the top 5 most affordable bikes in India.

1. Hero HF 100 | Rs 59,018

What establishes the Hero HF 100 as the most affordable motorcycle in the country today is its sheer simplicity. The motorcycle shares its 97cc engine with its sibling, the HF Deluxe, belting out the same amount of maximum power at 8hp and a peak torque of 8.05Nm. However, it excludes the i3S stop-start technology. It is offered in a single variant with a kick-starter option. The bike carries a price tag of Rs Rs 59,018 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

2. Hero HF Deluxe | Rs 59,998 to Rs 68,768

Hero MotoCorp is the market leader in the 100cc segment in India. This stature comes from one of the successful bikes the brand produces – the very popular HF Deluxe. The iconic 97cc ‘Sloper’ engine is a living legend and now comes equipped with the company’s i3S stop-start technology. The low-end variants of the HF Deluxe feature Kickstarter, while the high-end versions get an electric starter. The price of Hero HF Deluxe ranges between Rs 59,998 to Rs 68,768 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

3. TVS Sport | Rs 61,500 to Rs 69,873

The TVS Sport sits in a slightly higher segment compared to other bikes mentioned here. The reason is it gets a larger 109.7cc engine. Still, this motorcycle is the third most affordable motorcycle in India. The engine displacement results in more power to the motorcycle as it generates 8.3hp and 8.7Nm. TVS Sport’s base model is priced at Rs 61,500, which goes up to Rs 69,873 for the top-end variant (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

It’s also the only bike in this list to be OBD-2A compliant and E20 compatible. Thumping underneath its chest is a 99.7cc engine, capable of churning out a maximum power of 7.61hp and a peak torque of 8.05Nm. The Shine comes with an electric starter, which makes it the most affordable self-start bike in India. As for price, the motorcycle costs Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

5. Bajaj Platina 100 | Rs 67,808

The most affordable Bajaj motorcycle and the fifth most affordable motorcycle in the country, the Platina 100 is equipped with a 102cc engine with the company’s signature DTS-i technology.
