New Delhi: After several months of comparatively peace in the Ukrainian capital, two explosions shook Kyiv early morning on Monday.
Explosions were reported by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klitchko, in the Shevchenko district, a sizable region in the city’s heart that houses the old town’s historic buildings as well as various administrative buildings.

There were no reports of casualties right away.
Fighting has recently been concentrated in the districts to the north of Crimea, particularly Zaporizhzhia, from where six missiles were fired overnight on Saturday from Russian-occupied territory in the area.

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the attack that destroyed the substantial bridge linking Russia to its annexation of Crimea as “a terrorist act” that was planned by Ukrainian special forces.
