New Delhi: As 2022 draws to a close, Motorola has decided to release what will likely be its last phone of the year to ring in the holidays. The Lenovo-owned company has launched the Moto G Play (2023), but Indian buyers shouldn’t get too excited as the phone will be available in the US for now.
Motorola hasn’t said a word about whether it plans to bring the new Moto G Play (2023) to other markets.
The new Moto G Play (2023) is a budget phone that can be a good gift option around the holidays. Motorola’s new phone also comes with a new giveaway contest hosted by the company’s Instagram. Note that all this is for the US market only, not for India or elsewhere.
Moto G Play Price
The Motorola Moto G Play (2023) was launched at $169.99 (roughly Rs. 13,900), but you could get it for less as part of a promotional offer the company is running. It will go on sale in the US on January 12.

Motorola Moto G Play Specifications
The Motorola Moto G Play (2023) has modest specifications like a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which makes animations and scrolling smoother.
The Moto G Play (2023) is powered by a MediaTek MT6765 Helio G37 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Although this storage capacity may seem less, you have the option to expand it up to 512 GB using a microSD card.
Camera
On the back of the Moto G Play (2023), you have three cameras, including a 16-megapixel main camera and two 2-megapixel secondary cameras. On the front, the Moto G Play (2023) comes with a 5-megapixel camera that sits inside the punch hole.
The cameras come with features like Auto Smile Capture, Smart Composition, HDR, Timer, Active Photos, Burst Shot, Portrait Mode, Spot Color and Live Filter. The phone runs on Android 12 but can be upgraded to Android 13. The lights on are powered by a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging supported by the included charger.
