Jammu and Kashmir: In a joint operation by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, three terrorists have been apprehended from across the Line of Control in the Poonch sector. All three were trying to infiltrate on Wednesday night by taking advantage of bad weather and heavy rains. An Indian Army soldier got injured and was admitted to the hospital.

The Defence PRO said that the jawans stopped 3–4 terrorists from crossing the fencing on the LoC and have been arrested. The area has been cordoned off, and the search operation is on. A large quantity of arms and drugs, including a 10-kg IED and an AK-47, have been recovered from the possession of the terrorists.

According to the army, the intruders have been identified as Mohd Farooq, Mohd Riaz, and Mohd Zubair. All are residents of Karmara. Farooq was also shot in the leg during the infiltration. All three had received a consignment of arms and drugs from Pakistan. They were about to smuggle it but were caught. An AK-47, two pistols, six grenades, a pressure cooker, an IED, and 20 packets of heroin have been found in all three.
