New Delhi: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised Eden Hazard following his performance in the Spanish giants’ 3-0 win over Celtic on Tuesday, in the UEFA Champions League Group F opening match.
Hazard replaced injured Benzema in the first half and capped off his performance with a goal. Hazard has endured a horrible time since his dream move to Real Madrid back in 2019, managing just 69 appearances in all competitions due to poor form and injuries. His goal at Celtic Park was only his seventh in all competitions for Madrid.

Ancelotti told reporters at full time, “I thought it was Hazard’s moment when I brought him on, and he proved me right. He’s very happy, I hope he continues like that.”
On the other hand, Karim Benzema had to be substituted in the first half of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash against Celtic because of an apparent knee injury. Real Madrid will be nervous about the extent of the 34-year-old’s knock. He already has four goals to his name in all competitions this season and ended the last term with 44 goals.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said, “It seems nothing worrying, we have to wait for the test tomorrow. We don’t know if Karim’s injury is muscular or not.”
With Benzema possibly sidelined, Hazard will be hoping to be handed a start when Real Madrid returns to La Liga action against Mallorca on Sunday.
