IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship: Indian boxing sensation Nikhat Zareen defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam 5-0 in the 50 kg category final to win her second gold medal at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lovlina Borgohain defeated two-time Commonwealth Games medallist Caitlin Parker of Australia 5-2 in the 75kg final.
Nikhat started her fight in attack mode. She did not let the two-time Asian champion Nguyen Thi Tam settle down and landed a series of punches to win the first round 5-0.
The second round also went in the reigning World champion’s favour.

The third round was tough as Thi Tam gave it her all but was counted out when Nikhay threw a punch at her face. Thi Tam also managed to land a punch on Nikhat that stunned the entire stadium.

The referee counted Nikhat out. The fight continued and the Indian woman came out on top in this round and was declared the winner.
