RR vs GT: Rajasthan Royals ended heir dream unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) as Sanju Samson and co. fell to a 4-wicket defeat. The hosts were beaten by Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10.

RR End Unbeaten Run vs GT

Rajasthan were well on their way to matching one of the best unbeaten runs in IPL history, matching the likes of KKR, RCB, MI, CSK, and MI. Rajasthan had a 6 match streak back in 2008 when they went on to win the league as well.

Batting first, RR’s opening pair, consisting of Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Jos Buttler (8), couldn’t capitalize on the powerplay, with Jaiswal attempting to kickstart the innings with a few boundaries early on.

Following the openers’ departure, skipper Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag assumed responsibility and steered the team forward in the innings. Parag (76) continued his impressive form in this season’s IPL with a blazing innings that contributed crucial runs to the team’s total.

Samson also played a supporting role to Parag, crafting a well-compiled unbeaten 68 runs in the middle order as the Royals concluded their innings with a formidable total of 196/3 in 20 overs.

Gill’s Inspires GT To Victory

In pursuit of a formidable target of 197 against the undefeated Rajasthan Royals, Shubman Gill, and Sai Sudharshan reached 44 runs without losing a wicket by the end of the powerplay. Additionally, the Gujarat Titans skipper achieved a significant milestone in the lucrative league by surpassing the 3000-run mark in the IPL during the match.

However, wickets at the other end made it difficult for the visitors to maintain the required rate for the chase. Gill’s 44-ball 72 was well supported by both Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia on the night to take Gujarat over the line as they snatched a hard-fought 3-wicket victory in the end.
