With Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya coming under a lot of criticism regarding his side’s performance in the starting 2 games of the Indian Premier League, former Indian star pacer Irfan Pathan slammed the Indian all-rounder after his dismal performance against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

“If the whole team is playing with the strike of 200, the Captain can’t bat with the batting strike rate of 120,” Irfan posted on X.

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) engaged in a high-scoring Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Wednesday at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad, accumulating a combined total of 523 runs. SRH set a new record for the highest IPL total with 277/3, surpassing the previous mark of 263 set by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2013. MI put up a strong fight with 246/5 in their 20 overs, but SRH ultimately emerged victorious by 31 runs.

Tilak Varma led MI’s pursuit with an impressive 64 runs off just 34 balls following a solid start by openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Naman Dhir, filling in for the injured Suryakumar Yadav, contributed a valuable cameo of 30 runs from 14 balls.

Further down the batting order, Tim David played a crucial role, scoring an unbeaten 42 off 22 balls to keep MI in contention. However, SRH captain Pat Cummins delivered an exceptional bowling performance, restricting the flow of runs and guiding his team to victory.
