New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to their den, MA Chidambaram Stadium after almost four years gap. MS Dhoni-led CSK registered 12 runs victory over Lucknow Super Giants, thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s quick fifty and Moeen Ali’s magical spin spell of 4-wicket haul.
Dhoni warns CSK’s pacer at presentation
At the post match presentation, captain MS Dhoni showed the mirror to the bowlers. CSK’s main man dropped fresh bombshell at his bowling unit as the legendary cricketer was not entirely pleased with the bowling performance of the Yellow Brigade.
Too many extra runs by bowlers
In the high-octane drama at the Chepauk Stadium, Deepak Chahar-led bowling attack leaked 13 wide balls and three no-balls. In concern of this matter Dhoni said bowlers have to be very clear full about extra runs.
“They’ll have to bowl no no-balls and less wides. We are bowling too many extra deliveries and need to cut them out otherwise they’ll be playing under a new captain,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

Dhoni’s reaction on CSK vs LSG
Chennai’s skipper Dhoni also passed his verdict about the match. Openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed the 79 runs in the power play gave CSK the start they were searching.
After that a mini bombardment by Ambati Rayudu (27) and Dhoni’s last over masterclass gave CSK a highest score of the ongoing IPL season at Chepauk. Moeen Ali then delivered with bowl as he scalped 4 wickets and was adjudged player of the match.

“It was a terrific game, high-scoring game. All of us were thinking how the wicket will be. We had that doubt. It was a high-scoring game. Overall I think it was a perfect first game that happened and it was a full house for the first game in 5 or 6 years since we’ve been here. I thought it will be much slower. It was a wicket where you could score runs but overall it got a bit slower. We’ll have to see how it plays over the next six games at home but hopefully we can score here,” Dhoni said.
