New Delhi: A few days after the statement of Shahid Afridi, another former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has shared his opinion on the retirement of Indian star player Virat Kohli. 

While Afridi gave a career ‘suggestion’ to Kohli, Akhtar has taken the liberty to predict his retirement. While in conversation with India.com, Akhtar that he may just take the retirement after the T20 World Cup.

Kohli might just take retirement after the T20 World Cup. He may do that to extend his longevity in the other formats. If I was him I would have looked at the larger picture and taken a call,” the legendary Pakistan pacer said.

Virat Kohli returnes in form

India star player Virat Kohli finally returned to his form after a long wait of many months. Hitting his maiden T20I century and finishing as second highest run scorer in Asia Cup 2022, he has proved that his fire and form in back. Amidst the continuous discussions on his form, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has given a controversial statement.

Shahid Afridi saying Kohli to retire

While in media conversation, Shahid Afridi hinted on a suggestion for the former Indian cricketer Virat Kohli that he should now retire from international cricket before he gets dropped.

“The way Virat has played, the start that he had to his career, there was struggle initially before he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high,” said Afridi on a television program.
