Holi is one of the most joyous festivals in India. A festival celebrated by people of all ages, Holi is the victory or celebration of good over evil. It feels good to see people happy and playing with vibrant colors, but these beautiful colors can cause a lot of damage to your skin. The bright colors can be very harsh on your skin and can clog pores and make it rough and bumpy. It is very important to take care of your skin and keep it protected.

Pre-Holi skincare routine:

  1. Gently Exfoliate (2 weeks before the main day): We Indians have comparatively oily skin, which is more prone to breakouts. So, it is extremely important to exfoliate it with a homemade scrub to remove the dead skin cells.
  2. Hydration is the key (At least a week before): Hydration is extremely important for everybody as dehydrated skin looks unhealthy and glowless. Make sure to cleanse your face day and night and moisturise it well.  Start doing this at least a week before Holi.
  3. Create a protective barrier: Before playing Holi create a protective barrier between your skin and colors. Apply any oil of your choice all over your face and neck before going out to play colors.
  4. Don’t forget lips and nails: To protect your lips apply a thick layer of lip balm to avoid color stains. To protect your nails apply nail paint.
  5. Take care of your beautiful hair: Apply a generous amount of coconut oil or olive oil to your scalp at least 30 minutes before stepping out.
