Happy Baisakhi 2023: Baisakhi marks the beginning of the harvest season, one of the largest festivals in the Sikh community. Every year, the Baisakhi festival is celebrated in all parts of India with great pomp and ceremony. Baisakhi’s promise of a better tomorrow and hope of prosperity, happiness, and wealth is particularly evident in Punjab. It’s a time for people to come together and spend time with their families, friends, neighbours and loved ones.

They’re celebrating the day with each other, enjoying Baisakhi Special Food together and marking the start of the harvest season. In the state of Haryana, Baisakhi is also commonly referred to as Vaisakhi. This is the most extraordinary time of year again. The new year will be welcomed by Indian states across the country, starting with Poila Baisakh in West Bengal and Assam to Baisakhi in Punjab and Haryana. This is a special day, and we want to know more about it as we prepare for the celebration of Baisakhi.

Happy Baisakhi 2023: Date

Baisakhi will be observed on the 14th of April this year. The time of the Baisakhi Sankranti has been estimated at 3:12 p.m. by Drik Panchang.

Happy Baisakhi 2023: History

In 1699, The tenth and last Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, founded the Khalsa – also known as the pure one. In the Sikhs, he’s done away with the difference between upper and lower caste communities by declaring that everyone is equal.

He’s also ended the tradition of the Gurus, declaring Guru Granth Sahib the guide and the holy book of Sikhism, which is followed by all. Besides being celebrated as the beginning of the harvest season, this day is also followed as the special day when Khalsa was declared. 

Happy Baisakhi 2023: Significance 

Sikhs celebrate this day with a lot of enthusiasm by visiting the place of worship – Gurudwaras or taking part in nagar kirtan, the processions were taken out on the roads. They’re decorating the Gurudwaras and seeking blessings as well. On this day, Kada prasad is distributed among the devotees.
