Step-By-Step Guide
1.Soak glutinous rice and mushrooms in warm water for about 4 hours.
2. Stir fry mushrooms and chye poh with your preferred seasoning, and keep aside.
3. Sear and season rice and dry fruits in a pan, and let rest for a while.
4. Use bamboo leaves to wrap rice and other ingredients with cooking strips forming a cone or a square.
5. Add the wrapped zongzi in hot boiling water for about an hour.
6. Alternatively, boil zongzi for 2-3 hours until rice holds together, then cool for 24 hours before eating.
