On March 28th, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Varun Gandhi issued a sincere message for the residents of Pilibhit. Varun was substituted by former Congress leader Jitin Prasada in the BJP’s fifth list of candidates for the Pilibhit seat in Uttar Pradesh, which was announced on March 25th.

In a touching post on X, he expressed, “As I pen down these words today, a flood of memories overwhelms me with emotion. I recall the image of a 3-year-old boy, arriving in Pilibhit for the first time in 1983, clutching his mother’s hand. Little did he know then that this very land would one day become his workplace, and the people here would embrace him as family.”

He expressed his gratitude, stating that he considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the wonderful people of Pilibhit for many years. The values of ideals, simplicity, and kindness he received from Pilibhit greatly contributed to his growth and development, both as a Member of Parliament and as an individual. Serving as their representative has been the greatest honor of his life, and he has always worked tirelessly to champion their interests to the best of his ability.

Varun later added his commitment to Pilibhit even though his time as an MP is ending. He promised to continue serving the people as a devoted son, with his doors always open to them. Varun’s entry into politics was driven by his desire to represent the common man, and he seeks the community’s support to continue this mission. He emphasized that his bond with Pilibhit is based on love and trust, surpassing mere political associations.

Pilibhit, the constituency in Uttar Pradesh that Varun won twice, is scheduled for voting in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19. The deadline for candidates to file their nominations for the seat was March 27.
