A resurfaced video of Melania Trump, in which she described herself as “one of the most bullied persons in the world,” has gone viral amid recent reports that she turned down an invitation for tea from First Lady Jill Biden. President-elect Donald Trump is set to meet President Joe Biden at the White House at 11 a.m. for the traditional transition meeting, though the same respect was not extended to the Bidens in 2020, since Trump contested the election outcome.
Such a conference is usually accompanied by a display of gestures between the outgoing and incoming First Ladies as part of the process, but Melania Trump issued a statement saying she will not attend the meeting at the White House “Mrs. Trump will not be attending. She wishes her husband great success as he returns to the Oval Office to begin the transition process.”

Some conservative media sources pointed out that Melania might have had personal reasons for avoiding the Bidens, noting that she might be unwilling to engage with a family that, in her view, played a role in the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid. Sources say that agents inspected Melania’s private quarters and rummaged through personal items such as her dresser, potentially adding to her reluctance to meet with the Bidens.
Melania Reflects On Media Scrutiny
Supporters in conservative circles praised Melania’s choice to avoid the tea, interpreting it as her standing firm in her principles. Meanwhile, the video clip that has resurfaced is from a 2018, ABC interview, in which Melania Trump spoke about her experiences with public scrutiny and relentless media criticism. “I could say that I’m the most bullied person. One of the most bullied persons in the world, she said, referring to much of the negative commentary about her coming from anonymous online sources who “hide behind keyboards.”

During the interview, Melania touched on several rumours about her: suggestions that she was unhappy in the White House, speculation about her marriage and living arrangements, and frustrations that she said were often driven by unverified sources online.
