Weather update: On the second day of new year 2023 freezing cold prevailed in the entire plains of the country including Delhi-NCR. Many areas including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar have been experiencing bone-chilling cold for the past several days. According to the Meteorological Department, at present there is no hope of relief for the people.

Along with the cold, fog and fog have also troubled people. Visibility reaches zero in the morning at many places due to mist and dense fog. This is affecting the normal life as well as the traffic. Long distance trains are also being hit the most by the fog. Trains are also getting delayed due to fog, so it has to be canceled as well. Due to this the passengers had to face problems.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of continuation of rain with snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next few days. Due to the continuous snowfall in the Himalayan areas for the last several days, the mercury of the temperature has dropped below zero i.e. minus. Water has frozen in many places. Due to which people are facing huge problems.

On the other hand, the cold winds blowing from the mountains have increased the cold in the plains of North India. Cold wave-like conditions have been prevailing at many places for the last few days. The condition of cold is that people are forced to remain imprisoned in the house even during the day. In many states including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, the temperature is falling rapidly. Due to this, the difficulties of the people are increasing continuously.

According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, cold wave conditions are expected in different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan. Dense fog may occur in parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
